The Giant Leap - biography

The Giant Leap was founded in Helsinki in 2005 and is known for its powerful rock sounds, strong lyrics and confident live perfomances.

The present make-up of the band was settled in summer 2005 as the founder members Sebastian Rejman and Petri Somer met Sami Lehto. Sebastian and Petri are creating the lyrics whereas Sami is responsible for the arrangement and production of the songs. All members of the band have a solid musical background - a fact almost tangible in their music which floats somewhere on the borderland of melodic rock and powerpop - mixing different musical genres from soul to country.

The first album 'Another day rising' of the band was released in October 2007. The pieces have emerged over the years as a result of various life experiences. The first single "All In My Head" was a foretaste of the material published in autumn and has made it to number 2 in the national Finish radio airplay charts.

Second single "Somebody else" hit the downloads shops in September 2007 and is a beautifully written song - ingeniously arranged with accoustic guitars.
